Natascha Kampusch to host tv-show
Miss Kampusch is set to host a show on Austrian television station Puls 4, her adviser Wolfgang Brunner said. A pilot episode has already been filmed and are is expected to air in February.
The last 16 months the girl has been turned into a media personality, having appeared in television shows around the world. According to some she has been flooded with books and film offers.
It was Kampusch herself who came up with the format of the show; conducting one on one interviews, first guest being Peter Huemer at Kampusch’s request. Huemer is a well-known presenter for Austrian radio network V1 whom Kampusch listened to regularly during her captivity.
Kampusch was held by Proklopil for 8 years; she was only 10 years old when she was taken on her way to school in March of 1998. Most of the time she was kept in a tiny underground dungeon.
Christina Patzl, a spokeswoman for Puls 4, told CNN that careful consideration was being given to the teenager’s mental well-being and the program makers were in constant contact with her therapists throughout the filming. Patzl said that Kampusch is getting extensive television coaching ahead of the program launch.
This to me is the opposite of what you’d expect; most people that have undergone a traumatic experience like the one she has been through, would stay out of the public eye, not be in it constantly.
All the interviews I have seen of her show a somewhat shy girl, but enjoying life. She is a very thoughtful young women and seems to think carefully on how to say things before the words leave her mouth (as more people should). Is it really the best decision to have her do this? Even if it was her own idea?
Is this an attempt to shake off her victim persona or is this simply what she has wanted to since she was young, but Proklopil got in the way?

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article a Kampusch to host tv-show | No Borders Allowed, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
