Entertainment Roundup | 02/01/2008
Entertainment Roundup is a day late, sorry about that everyone. Had a terrible time sorting through the news that I found and was sent to us and find things that were NOT Britney or stars in Rehab related.
will she really get the help she needs?
It seems that Brit Brit may finally get the help she so desperately needs. After a little stand off on Thursday, police whisked her off to a psychiatric ward and is under the care of Doctors. Britney Spears was accompanied by more then a dozen police officers in an effort to “get help” for the troubled star as one officer described it. This is Spears’ second 72-hour commitment in four weeks, but her previous stay lasted less then two days and was followed by even more crazy. The law allows a person to be placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold for up to 72 hours if they are believed to be a danger to themselves or others.
When asked if her daughter was all right, Lynne Spears replied “Yeah”. Under the law, doctors may keep an individual under round-the-clock observation but may not medicate the person without his or her permission unless there appears to be grave danger, said Dr. Bruce Spring, assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at the University of Southern California.
Update: Lynne and Jamie Spears, Britney’s parents, won the first tug-o-war contest. Osama Lufti has a restraining order against him and is not allowed anywhere near Britney. Britney and her estate were placed under Jamie’s temporary conservatorship by Court Commissioner Reva Goetz. The order, which only lasts through the weekend, gives the father control over his troubled 26-year-old’s treatment and her finances, and a say in who can have access to her home and hospital room.
Who would you Shag, Marry, Conjoin With or Kill?
Spanking, dirty word games, arguments over who would sleep with whom, the original vampire slayer, lesbians and marriage proposals — you put that all together and you get what? Exactly, you get a celebrity party coverage like never seen before.

Sarah Warn, owner of AfterEllen.com, gave Bridget McManus (Brunch with Bridget) and Karman Kregloe (We’re Getting Nowhere) a microphone and a camera to cover the Hollywood screening of 3Way and hilarity ensued.
To find out who got spanked (and who did the actual spanking), and other hilarious ‘confessions’ hop on over to AfterEllen.com and check out the video.
Michelle Williams Speaks Out
Michelle Williams is speaking publicly for the first time since Heath Ledger’s tragic death last week and released a statement via her publicist on Friday.
“Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him.”
Another star in rehab, yes, yes, yes
The latest star to have checked into rehab is Eva Mendes. Reports suggest the Hitch star is battling substance abuse issues and was, according to TMZ.com, admitted to Cirque Lodge last month, the same Utah rehab facility where Lindsay Lohan spent last summer.
Though Mendes’ publicist has confirmed the actress is seeking treatment, she has refused to state the exact reason of her stay. “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to pro actively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva’s privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details.”
By the end of 2008 we’ll be talking about how many times the stars have been in and out of rehab instead of what they’ve achieved career wise.
Jorja Fox to return to CSI
On a very happy note. Jorja Fox will be returning to CSI. Jorja was on KTLA’s “Morning Show” to promote her play “Stay Forever”, and to drop some news about “CSI”
Jorja Fox: And I will be, there will be a moment, I will return. (gasp from somebody off camera) I can’t tell you when or why or how…
Interviewer: Oh like in a box, or what’s the first thing…
Jorja Fox: Uh, I can’t tell you, very secretive…
Yes, Yes! Rejoice! Be happy, dance around and all that stuff. This also mean that it is highly likely we will be getting GSR back. While I am not completely against the relationship, I’d rather see her come back to break it off with Grissom and ride off into the sunset with Catherine. Or you know, just break it off with Grissom and hook up with Catherine and have them stay on the show.
What? A girl can dream, can’t she?
Terribly sorry that this is a short one. Next week will be longer, promise.
Before we forget
Be sure to check back somewhere in the weekend for the Dutch Idol review.
A new weekly column will be added to the site soon. Two crazies are going to talk about anything and everything, absolutely hilarious!
On another note
