This weeks theme is Big Band, and even when you are just sitting on your couch in your living room it gives you that little extra tingle. I’ve had that with every Big Band Live Shows from Idols and I can’t agree more with the judges that, by far, this years candidates go beyond all the other candidates together from the previous shows.
The performances
(Round 1)
Charlene (Aretha Franklin - R.E.S.P.E.C.T)
I absolutely adore her voice, very refreshing and it lends itself to the theme. Give the girl some respect indeed.
Nikki (Amy Winehouse - Valerie)
The girl amazes me each and every week. Even with songs I do not like as much she made it something special.
Nigel (Dean Martin - Sway)
I gotta say, he did his best and succeeded somewhat. I actually liked his performance.
Nathalie (Shirley Bassey - Big Spender)
Girl can sing. Wasn’t to thrilled about her performance, but she can belt out that voice damn fine.
(Round 2)
Charlene (Rose Royce - Car Wash)
Job well done. And like she said during the song, this would sound absolutely whack in Dutch.
Nikki (Tom Jones - (I) Who Have Nothing)
This is one of those songs that fit Nikki perfectly and in which she can show just how powerful her voice is. Brought a tear to my eyes. Singing songs like this is telling a story, you have to make people believe. She makes people believe, she tells the story witch such power, you think she’s telling it to you.
Nice, another job well done. The song is not made for a male voice, in my opinion, but he did it quite nice.Nathalie (Tina Turner & Ike Turner - Proud Mary (Original by Creedence Clearwater Revival))
Woman can ROCK. Damn fine performance. Not many can do what Tina does, but Nathalie gave it a good try.

The Results
They switched it around a little today as well. The actually told us who got the most votes, something they have not done since the beginning.
- Nikki - Of course our girl got the most votes. I’d would have been surprised if she hadn’t her performances were absolutely brilliant.
- Nathalie - With her grand performance of tonight she deserved to go through.
- Charlene - With the addition of Charlene to our top three this competition will reach new heights next week.
I have to say that I am not sorry to see Nigel go, simply for the reason that the girls are better then him. If Nigel had been upped his game earlier in the competition, who knows where it could have ended up.

Based on today’s performances, I would agree that Nigel did not deserve to go through. However, was a bit surprised Nikki got most votes, as I thought today Nathalie was the best. She had an edge. She had the edge in both singing and performance. Nikki has been consistent the past weeks, while Nathalie had been dipping, guess that is why she might have got lower votes. but if Nathalie continues to raise the game the next week, the final will be superfantastic. I see a big international future for Nathalie. hope American idol can learn the format for dancing and live band.

The “9th” performances was TIGHT! Nikki is a pretty and fine singer. However, ladies and gentlemen, we have a superstar in that edition … N.A.T.H.A.L.I.E ! WOW.. do you guys remember the 1st show? Since the beginning, Nathalie is on fire. Her repertoire is huge. The final will be great but we have to choose the best performer on Dutch Idols 4.
Nathalie is the best indeed!

I want NO BORDERS ALLOWED to be fair !!
It seems like you guys are pushing Nikki on top !?? Why are you putting youtube video’s of Nikki!? She is a very good singer for sure and I respect her. But please, let’s stay objective.
NATHALIE is fantastic and it is official! She deserves the title since the 1st show !!!!
I’m with you sista … hihihihi
Fantastic final coming soon … NATHALIE YOUR ARE A “WOW” SINGER !!!

@Mr. Oriental: We (No Borders Allowed) are not pushing Nikki to be on top. I, the writer of this review, am. I like Nikki as a singer more then I like Nathalie as a singer.
Through the nine live shows, Nikki has shown to be more consistent throughout and even if she had a somewhat off performance, she was still good.
As for being objective; the site is called No Borders Allowed for a reason.
That being said - Nathalie is good, absolutely. I just like Nikki better.

Okay so I am one of the other authors on this site but that doesn’t matter, cause this is my opinion;
I really liked Nikki since the start, her voice and her performance got better throughout each and every show. She has been growing since her first appearance on Idols and every time that I think that she can’t top her last performance she comes up and goes straight over it again.
I personally really hope that she will win, in my opinion she deserves it. Though Nathalie is good, she is not the one who gives me goosebumps when she performs.
That being said, this website shows what we think about different subjects, sometimes we agree sometimes we don’t. This is one of the things where we agree 100%. But we have no influence at all so why would we favor someone if that isn’t our true opinion.
For the first time in four Idols editions my personal favorite made it to the final three and hopefully she will be number 1 in the end. We’ll see …

Hi Chantal, Hi Angelique,
All right. Sorry if I was too rude. lol.
I agree with you concerning Nikki ’s evolution. It is quite impressive. The beauty of the final will be to have such a level of performers. That’s exciting!! I guess you ladies and myself do not listen the same type of music. If everybody stays objective, that’s fine.
Nikki or Nathalie …. Nathalie or Nikki …. (sorry for Charlene)
Both ladies are fantastic. Let’s hope they will have the career they deserve.
Thank you for this interesting section on the website ladies!
