The L Word – 5×7 Lesbians gone wild

The L Word

‘Lesbians gone Wild’ and wild they went …

Storylines seem to get weirder with every episode that passes, hey I got a weird idea where should I sent it? Maybe they should let that Prosecutor woman send her on a blind date with Phyllis Kroll, I don’t know but she looked so gay to me. Or maybe that is just the influence of that army attitude and suit. Or maybe that is just because all the women in the end turn out to be at least bisexual. If this is what is going to happen then I apperantly have the same strange ideas as them, I am completely spoiler free so I wouldn’t know.

Spoiler warning!

Jenny Shecter

Jenny getting all paranoid about the film crew on ‘her’ set! Too funny, that is one way to treat people who are attempting to film ‘behind the scenes’ footage.

Tina Kennard

Poor Tina for having to deal with Jenny on a daily bases. Poor Tina for trying to keep everything going when she has people like Jenny and Nikki walking around on the set, disappearing all the time for a make out session rather then a make-up session for the next scene.

Bette Porter

What is it with Bette in sex scenes? Some are so hot while others suck and in my opinion border ‘rape’. I don’t know that scene with Jodi in this episode had that aggression again, not as bad as she had in that season 1 sex scene with Tina but still it doesn’t sit right with me. She is so self centered during those scenes, it is all about Bette. And she doesn’t care at all about the other person. For Bette it seems to be a way to cope with her own wrong doings… I don’t know, to me it doesn’t seem like she will find the answer in emotionless sex.

Shane McKutcheon

There was no sex scene with Shane, was there? There even wasn’t really anyone falling for her, well except during the whole oil wrestling thing … but that had more to do with the oil then Shane. Now that was surprising!

Alice Pieszecki

Alice just get over yourself and your own principals and be ‘fun gay’!
I think that Alice represents fun gay! That scene with with the security guard and Tina was just really too funny. Common’ you really can’t tell me that it didn’t crack you up.

Alice: Have I told you that I’m the earth mother of the producer’s child?

As if the security guard would even care about that. But comments like that are like a trademark for Alice, ‘I am small but I can outrun you’ when she said that I saw her running and screaming for Tina all over the set. It would have been such a comical scene.

Kit Porter

Bow-wow-chick-a-bow-wow!

Dawn Denbo and Cindi

Tina: Oh, my god, there is no way I’m going to let Dawn Denbo and her lover, Cindi, recruit customers from our set.

Okay, how annoying is it that not only Dawn Denbo always needs to refer to Cindi as ‘my lover Cindi’ but also other people start doing it! What’s up with that? Kit got what she wanted though both Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindi got taken into custody together, how sweet is that.

Annoying stuff!

Right now there are two things that annoy me to no end on the show. First of all they seem to create storylines which they don’t put through. Half way through the story they all of the sudden change it all around or even forget about it completely.

First of all Max Sweeney, seriously if you ask me this was like the whole gay parenting, breast cancer and the gay in the army subject an important and interesting subject in the lesbian universe. And where did it go … disappeared into thin air if you ask me. All of the sudden the woman who wanted to become a man decided that she doesn’t … okay that can happen of course that can happen, but what was the purpose of the whole storyline?

Secondly someone wrote in a review yesterday that Max only seemed to be around to be bashed by the others or to upload a podcast. And unfortunately I have to say that ‘that’ person was right on the spot about that.

Secondly there is the whole Helena Peabody thing. Well if you have read my post about Jorja Fox leaving CSI you know that I get that people make choices which is okay with me. It is their life and no one should feel obliged to stick with a television show when they don’t want to. Fine by me, no problem at all. But seriously is it too much to ask for a descent ending. The least I had expected was a freak out from Mama Peabody. Common’ her jail bird daughter is a fugitive and you never see her reaction to that news?

Besides that it would have been nice to at least see that Helena freed Dusty from jail by paying her bail and taking her to that Island … where they live happily ever after. Is that honestly too much to ask? Open endings are fine too but this is one huge hole it is like the season 4 episode where all of the sudden Marina showed up without a real explanation why she had to show up, or leave for that matter.

The writers from ‘The L Word’ suck at ending their story lines. It is as if they take an awfully long time to build a storyline and then they cut it off while there is still a lot to explore. It annoys me and I hope that somehow we will see something about Helena and not just make her disappear completely until she all of the sudden shows up in let’s say season 7 …
