Lily Allen Suffers a Miscarriage
Starting off with some sad news; Lily Allen suffered a miscarriage, reportedly after coming back from a romantic getaway at the Maldives, Allen’s publicist have confirmed. “We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage… and we ask that her privacy be respected at this difficult time.”
A source tells the Sun (who first broke the news), that the couple “are in a state of shock. The bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are both absolutely heartbroken. Lily’s entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed. She had turned her back on her party girl image and turned over a new leaf.”
The singer confirmed the news of her unplanned but welcome pregnancy in December, a month after she learned she was expecting.
Brad Renfro Dead at 25
Star of films such as ‘The Client’, and the upcoming ‘The Informers’ died of, as of yet, unknown causes on Jan 15th 2008. The young star had several arrests under his belt for, amongst others, driving mishaps, but that is not how acting legend Sir Ian McKellen will remember him; the actor paid tribute to his co-star of the 1998 film Apt Pupil.
McKellen wrote on his blog: “I first caught sight of Brad Renfro when he was kicking a football around with Bryan Singer on the half-built set of Apt Pupil in Hollywood. He was a kid having fun and that’s how I shall always remember him. But he was more than that. He was a proper actor and when we worked together he was determined to be accepted as such.
On set, he was blusteringly confident although it was obvious he would have benefited from training as an actor. Yet, as Todd, the disturbed teenager in Apt Pupil, he tapped into an inner demonic world and carried the film on his young shoulders. He longed to belong in the alien world which perhaps in the end overwhelmed him.
He was only 25 and it is dreadful we shan’t see all that he might have achieved.”
The hottest Lesbian Comedy NOT on TV
A new web comedy series is coming online in just two weeks. And it is quite the three way (okay, four way, there’s four characters). Maeve Quinlan (South Of Nowhere) and Jill Bennett (Dante’s Cove, We’re Getting Nowhere) star along side Cathy Shim and Maile Flanagan.
3Way is an online comedy about a straight women, her lesbian roommate who invites her girlfriend to live with them and has an ex lurking around. “Each episode is 5-7 minutes long and will be posted every Monday with one or two “confessionals” (which are about the same length, but shot more in a talking-to-the-camera style)” They told AfterEllen.com.
And if the webisodes are half as funny as the behind-the-scenes footage Sarah Warn from AfterEllen.com shot, then we are in for a good run. Check out the footage below.
Let’s not forget the posters with funny quotes either. My favorite is Andrea (Jill Bennett)
